The Department of Textiles has launched the second phase of its e-textile portal, aimed at improving subsidy management and increasing transparency in Maharashtra’s textile sector. The update includes a mobile app and the introduction of ‘Texconnect’ magazine, designed to provide industry insights.
Textiles minister Sanjay Savkare announced the development at an event in Mumbai’s Mantralaya, stating that the expansion would contribute to a digital transformation within the sector. “With this growth, every participant in the textile business in Maharashtra will benefit from a rapid, transparent, and effective digital platform,” said Savkare, Apparel Resources reported.
The updated portal will now support a broader range of textile industries, including silk, handloom, and technical textiles. By streamlining the grant process and enhancing accessibility, the initiative aims to create a more efficient system for industry stakeholders in India.
The Maharashtra government has been working to digitise its textile sector to improve operational efficiency and support industry growth. With the latest phase of the e-textile portal, the Department of Textiles is positioning the platform as a central hub for businesses seeking subsidies and industry information.
