Decathlon steps into quick commerce in India with Zepto

Sportswear and sports equipment retailer Decathlon has partnered with quick commerce business Zepto to offer faster deliveries of products from its e-commerce store to shoppers across India.

“As the demand for an active lifestyle in the country continues to grow, we are committed to being part of this journey,” said Decathlon India’s CEO Sankar Chatterjee, ET Retail reported. “This partnership further strengthens our mission to move people through the wonders sport by quickly and efficiently delivering sporting products and equipment directly their doorsteps.”
 
The partnership currently covers 16 large Indian cities which include Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. Shoppers in these areas can shop a wide selection of Decathlon’s products through Zepto to ensure fast deliveries with options including clothing and accessories for team sports, outdoor sports, and water sports among others.
 
“We believe in promoting an active lifestyle and are excited about the opportunity to work with our sellers to make fitness products more accessible to millions of Indians,” said Zepto’s CEO Aadit Palicha.
 
Decathlon has recently expanded both online and offline in the Indian market. The business plans to expand its brick-and-mortar store total to 190 stores in the coming five years and also aims to increase its product sourcing in the country.
