Colgate-Palmolive India Ltd reported a 2 percent decline in net profit to Rs 323 crore ($37.4 million) for the third quarter ended December 2024, as against Rs 330 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The company’s revenue for the quarter increased by 5 percent to Rs 1,462 crore, as against Rs 1,396 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Commenting on the results, Prabha Narasimhan, managing director CEO of Colgate-Palmolive in a statement said, “This has been a quarter of relatively soft demand, particularly in the urban market. In these market conditions and a heightened competitive landscape, we delivered a resilient performance this quarter with toothpaste reporting mid-single-digit intrinsic volume growth and continued competitive growth on toothbrushes.”
“We continue to see positive momentum in our premium portfolio, driven by science-backed innovations. While the near-term macro environment continues to look challenging, we are committed to driving growth through focus on a strategy that is working,” he added.
Colgate-Palmolive retails oral care products under the Colgate brand and personal care products under the ‘Palmolive’ brand name.
