Personal care and beauty brand Clensta’s co-founder and chief business officer Ashish Mishra has decided to step down from his roles at the business and plans to launch a new venture in the Indian personal care market.

“I stepped down from my role at Clensta,” announced Ashish Mishra in a statement, ET Retail reported. “The decision came after we started exploring a possible acquisition for Clensta as this did not align with my long term goals.”

In order to launch the upcoming brand, Mishra has joined forces with several industry veterans who have already created sizeable labels, the Economic Times reported. Along with his time spent at Clensta, Mishra also has experience working with personal care brand Mamaearth where he oversaw areas including general and modern trade.

“The last two to three months have been spent on extensive research to identify and build a personal care brand in this crowded market,” said Mishra. “We will make an official announcement within the next two months.”

Clensta was established in 2016 and it specialises in skincare and haircare products, according to its Facebook page. The brand retails from its direct to customer e-commerce store as well as on numerous multi-brand platforms.
