Menswear brand Celio India plans to open 100 new brick-and-mortar stores in the coming two to three years. The label aims to tap into growth opportunities in Tier 2 and 3 cities and connect with non-metro shoppers.
“We have identified significant opportunities in retail, particularly in expanding direct retail stores, and have located approximately 40 malls and nine high streets for expansion, aiming to open around 50 stores within our existing cities,” said Celio Future Fashion’s CEO Satyen Momaya, the Hindu Businessline reported.
In Tier 2 and 3 cities, Celio plans to launch between 50 and 60 exclusive brand outlets, Apparel Resources reported. Over the past year and a half, Celio launched 20 new stores and aims to accelerate its growth momentum over the coming months.
Celio’s India subsidiary ‘Celio India’ was set up in 2009 when the brand entered the country in partnership with Future Group, which later acquired a majority stake in the company. Celio was originally established in France’s Saint Ouen in 1978 and the label’s main retail base continues to be France. Now retailing in over 70 countries worldwide, Celio’s tagline is “be normal,” according to its Facebook page.
