Gen Z focused apparel brand Bonkers Corner has collaborated with Japanese brand Hello Kitty from the house of Sanrio to debut a womenswear collection. The launch celebrates Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary and is part of a plan by Sanrio and its licensing agency Dream Theatre to significantly expand Hello Kitty’s presence in India.
“This partnership is one of our fist steps in boosting Hello Kitty’s presence in India,” said Silvia Figini, chief operating officer of Sanrio GmbH (EMEA, Oceania, and India) and Mister Men Limited (Worldwide) in a press release. “We are excited to introduce the kawaii style bringing these delightful creations to Hello Kitty enthusiasts and fans across India.”
The Bonkers Corner collection features Hello Kitty graphics on garments including skirts, oversized t-shirts, crop tops, bottoms, and caps. Debuting at Bonkers Corner’s flagship store in Lower Parel, Mumbai, the collection is priced from Rs 299 to Rs 1,099 and caters to Hello Kitty enthusiasts of all ages.
“At Bonkers Corner, we’ve always been about spreading joy and a little bit of silliness,” said Bonkers Corner’s founder Shubham Gupta. “Hello Kitty is a global icon who embodies positivity and fun, so this collaboration is a perfect match! We’re thrilled to bring a touch of Bonkers to Hello Kitty’s world, and to introduce the Hello Kitty fan base to the wacky and wonderful world of Bonkers Corner. It’s been amazing to see the creative explosion from both our communities, and we can’t wait to see what kind of crazy-awesome creations come out of this collaboration!”
