Shirting and apparel brand Bombay Shirt Company has collaborated with menswear designer Arjun Khanna to launch a collaborative collection of denim shirts. The brand will subsequently roll out other vintage-inspired exclusive collections this year.

“When we were thinking of our next collab there was one name we kept coming back to – Arjun Khanna,” said Bombay Shirt Company’s founder and CEO Akshay Narvekar in a press release. “His name and brand is synonymous with exceptional quality and a rich tailoring heritage. We couldn’t think of anyone better to bring a collection like this to life. His attention to detail, incredible insights and knowledge on how to work with a fabric like this are unparalleled. We can’t wait for everyone to experience this collection.”

The first drop from BSC x AK is a line of 12 men’s shirts; 10 made from different shades of denim and two made from a “surprise” fabric, according to the label. The utilitarian designs were inspired by vintage military uniforms, workwear, Western films, Japanese retro, and the city of Mumbai. The collection has launched at Bombay Shirt Company’s India stores and on its direct to customer e-commerce store.

“Denim is a timeless fabric that is close to my heart,” said Khanna. “As a lifelong student of denim to being a collector of vintage denim for over three decades, I knew this was going to be the foundation for our first Llimited drop. Akshay, Neha and the Bombay Shirt Company team instantly resonated with what we envisioned. We’ve spent months pouring over every distinct detail from the metal rivets, the colour of every thread, to the cuts and labels. Each shirt is hand-stitched. Each is unique. Each is a wearable piece of art. Thrilled to partner with Bombay Shirt Company to take our shared vision into more wardrobes in India and around the world.”
