“Super excited for the journey to build Blinkit alongside Albinder Dhindsa and team,” announced Vipin Kapooria in a post on Linkedin. The appointment comes soon after Zomato’s recent Rs 8,500 crore fundraise which was carried out through a qualified institutional placement, ET Tech reported. The business announced that the funds would be used to broaden its quick commerce services.

“I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all the Flipsters for all the support I have received during this journey,” wrote Kapooria on Linkedin as he announced his departure from Flipkart. “Being part of Flipkart’s success and seeing it grow into a market leader is something I feel very proud to have been a part of. I am grateful for the incredible experiences and growth during my time at Flipkart.”

Along with working for Flipkart, Kapooria has also worked with businesses including Whirlpool India, Oyo, and Yum Restaurants. The executive is one of a number of individuals who have recently left Flipkart to join quick commerce businesses as the market continues to grow in India. Notably, many quick commerce players are increasingly adding fashion and beauty categories to their offering and Blinkit recently launched Mokobara luggage and bags on its online platform.
