The Bharat Diamond Bourse and the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council brought together government officials and industry players to highlight and explore Gujarat’s integral role in the diamond industry at an event in Mumbai on November 16.
The industry event welcomed Gujarat’s chief minister Bhupendra Patel and the minister of home, industries, transport, youth, and sports Harsh Sanghavi, the GJEPC reported on its website. The Gem & Jewellery National Relief Foundation also helped to organise the Mumbai event.
“Attended a remarkable event at the Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) Convention Hall, in Mumbai, today in the esteemed presence of CM Shri Bhupendra Patel ji,” announced Harsh Sanghavi on Facebook on Saturday. “The discussions and insights shared during the interaction were truly inspiring and highlighted the dynamic vision of the diamond industry and its growth prospects. Grateful to witness such an impactful team of people working in the diamond industry!”
While thanking the government for its support thus far in building up India’s diamond industry, event participants sought to forge further collaborations to bolster the sector. The industry is keen to establish India as a global diamond hub and increase diamond exports worldwide.
“Today’s event underscores the unstinted support of the Gujarat Government for the diamond industry,” said the GJEPC’s chairman Vipul Shah, the GJEPC reported on its website. “Under the CM’s visionary leadership, the sector has continued to flourish, becoming a cornerstone of India’s gem and jewellery exports and a vital driver of economic growth. With over one million livelihoods linked to the diamond industry, we remain committed to further enhancing Gujarat’s global standing and contribution to India’s economic prosperity.”
