Balmain unveils new “Les Eternels” fragrance collection

“Les Eternels de Balmain” is the latest fragrance collection from the esteemed luxury house created under the  guidance of its celebrated creative director, Olivier Rousteing. This collection marries the rich Parisian heritage of Pierre Balmain, who established the brand in 1945, with the modern sensibilities of Rousteing, heralding the brand’s renewed foray into the fragrance world with eight unisex eau de parfums.

“Fashion cannot exist without beauty, and beauty cannot exist without fashion. Beauty is part of your silhouette, of who you are, just like the way you dress. I want to represent all the beauties of the world and welcome everyone without exceptions,” stated Olivier Rousteing in a press release.

The collection reimagines four of Balmain’s historic fragrances—”Vent Vert,” “Ivoire,” “Ébène,” and “Carbone”—while introducing four innovative scents: “Sel d’Ambre,” “Rouge,” “Bronze,” and “Bleu Infini.” Officially launched on Tuesday, August 27, each perfume, available at 300 euros for 50 ml, can be purchased through Balmain’s online platform and at select retail locations.

This venture into the realm of beauty, soon to be expanded into additional cosmetic categories, is undertaken in collaboration with Estée Lauder, which has managed Balmain’s beauty license since the end of 2022.

Founded just after World War II by Pierre Balmain, the fashion house was acquired by the Qatari investment fund Mayhoola for $620 million in 2016. While already present in the beauty industry with its Balmain Hair Couture line, the house has a history of perfume creation, particularly during its partnership with French group Interparfums from 2011 to 2017.

In a significant move this April, Balmain appointed Matteo Sgarbossa, formerly of Givenchy, as its new CEO.
