Along with exclusive brand outlets, AstorMueller also plans to launch 20 shop in shops in 2024, India Retailing reported. The European business is bullish on India and aims to establish a retail presence in India’ top 20 cities for Bagatt, Bugatti, and NuBeat to connect with more consumers.

“Our primary focus for investment will be on expanding our retail footprint,” AstorMueller’s chief operating officer Sandip Kanti Baksi told India Retailing. “Each of our stores requires a considerable amount of investment… Within the next three years we definitely would have stores in all top cities of the country. Primary focus is on metro cities because the brand is strong there compared to Tier 2 cities. Our current network consists of over 50 shop-in-shops along with our six mono-brand stores. We are aiming to increase this number by 50% over the next quarter.”

The business is also forging a collaboration with multi-brand retailer Shoppers Stop and plans to launch in select outlets soon. Planning to reach 70 shop in shops by the end of 2024, AstorMueller also aims to begin opening stores dedicated to Bagatt, which currently retails as a segment in select Bugatti stores in India.

Originally set up as a workshop in Schwelm, Germany in 1928, AstorMueller now has offices in Switzerland, Romania, and India. The business retails in 40 countries worldwide with annual sales at around seven million pairs of shoes. The business runs two  Ambur in Tamil Nadu and Agra in Uttar Pradesh.
