Arjun Kapoor is one of the few Bollywood actors who have been vocal about their personal or mental health struggles. Recently, the actor discussed his deep bond with his sisters, particularly with Janhvi Kapoor, who he believes is wise beyond her years. The actor also explained that his sisters have been filling a void in his life left by the demise of his mother, Mona Shourie.
In a new interview with Raj Shamani, Arjun Kapoor revealed that he, his sister Anshula Kapoor, and other half-sisters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor share a wonderful bond. He mentioned that his bond with his step-sisters developed after their mother Sridevi’s demise in 2018.
The actor explained that he could understand them during those tragic times because he had been through a similar experience of losing his mother a few years ago. Kapoor explained that they had all gradually developed an emotional bond.
He said, “We were at the lowest in terms of… Me and Anshula had experienced something, then Janhvi and Khushi were going through something that we wouldn’t wish for our worst enemies, which happened in our house. So we started with being vulnerable.”
For those unaware, Arjun and Anshula are the children of Boney Kapoor and his first wife, Mona Kapoor. After their parents separated, his father got married to a second marriage to actress Sridevi. Later, Arjun’s mother, Mona, passed away in 2012 after battling cancer, and Arjun admitted that it was a big loss that left a void in his life. However, now his sisters, including Janhvi Kapoor, are helping to fill it.
“I feel the most myself with my sisters. With Janhvi, I’ve spoken about things I never even confessed to myself. She is wise and understanding. Anshula, too, has been my biggest support. Even when I don’t speak, she sits with me, and I naturally open up,” he shared.
The Ishaqzaade actor admitted he doesn’t had the wonderful opportunity to have a mother around him for long, yet he is happy to have his sisters. They can be someone he can be vulnerable with, and he also added that conversations with his sisters work for him. Consequently, they all make a serious difference in his life.
