Fine jewellery brand Anmol Jewellers held an interactive event to launch ‘Gaja,’ a bespoke jewellery collection designed to support elephant conservation. The brand has partnered with the World Wide Fund for Nature India for the initiative.
“Gaja was created keeping in mind the deep emotive value it holds for the brand,” said Anmol Jewellers’ founder Ishu Datwani in a press release. “It’s not only artistic and royal, but we take immense inspiration from Lord Ganesha and his association with elephants that are believed to bring in good fortune and abundance to the one who embodies it. Every big occasion in our life is blessed by Lord Ganesha, and that is what we have tried to achieve with Gaja.”
Anmol Jewellers invited brand friends and celebrities to view the collection, learn about elephant conservation, and hear the brand founders’ own experiences travelling in Africa. The collection was crafted by 18 artisans who spent a collective total of 2,700 hours manufacturing Gaja’s rings, necklaces, and other fine jewellery items. A portion of the proceeds from the collection will go to supporting the WWF India’s conservation efforts.
“A family trip to Africa 15 years ago, cemented a core memory for us and our association with elephants,” said Anmol Jewellers’ creative director Trisha Datwani Anand. “My dad and I even share a tattoo together depicting the bond between a parent elephant and its baby on our wrists. We truly embrace the aura of elephants at Anmol.”
