The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has allocated over $35.53 million (Rs 310 crore) to develop three textile parks in Andhra Pradesh under the Scheme for Integrated Textile Park (SITP). These parks, located in Anantapuramu, Nellore, and Guntur, aim to drive investments, create employment opportunities, and enhance exports in the state’s textile industry.
Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada announced the upcoming textile parks in the Lok Sabha in response to a query from Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy regarding central assistance for Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth, Apparel Resources reported. Prasada highlighted that the centre is implementing numerous schemes to support the state’s industrialisation efforts.
The three upcoming parks include Hindupur Vyapar Apparel Park in Anantapuramu, Tarakeswara Textile Park in Nellore, and Guntur Textile Park in Guntur. The projects have individual allocations of $11.72 million (Rs 102.27 crore), $11.86 million (Rs 103.44 crore), and $12.05 million (Rs 105.12 crore), respectively. The Brandix India Apparel Park in Visakhapatnam, built under a similar scheme, has already been completed with an investment of $15.41 million (Rs 134.41 crore).
Prasada further noted that the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises is implementing the Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme across India, with Andhra Pradesh receiving a grant of $5.69 million (Rs 49.66 crore) for infrastructure projects in the 2025 financial year.
The centre has also approved three industrial projects in Andhra Pradesh under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme, with the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust disbursing over $61 million (Rs 531.36 crore) in the past five years.
