Must read

Designer Amit Aggarwal explored concepts of time and the universe as he brought to life a Roman Goddess of the future at Hyundai India Couture Week 2024. Aggarwal’s ‘Antevorta’ collection was sculptural, dramatic, and blended the label’s signature style with new textiles and techniques.

“Our couture line transcends conventional fashion boundaries, delving into the fundamental essence of humanity,” said Amit Aggarwal in a press release. “By envisioning time as five distinct yet interconnected entities, we extend our narrative beyond the realm of fashion. Antevorta represents a pivotal moment in our ongoing journey of creative exploration and innovation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners- Lenskart, Nine West, Lotus Makeup, and Isvari- for their invaluable contributions, which were instrumental in the success of this show.”

The collection has a mix of bold silhouettes and intricate details with fluid lines juxtaposed with metal hues and almost surreal proportions. The runway show took place against a stark, black backdrop populated with futuristic and gigantic curves of metal.

“At Lenskart, we view eyewear as a timeless expression of individuality,” said Lenskart’s co-founder Ramneek Khurana. “Partnering with Amit Aggarwal for India Couture Week, whose collection delves into the profound connection between time and the universe, aligns seamlessly with our vision. Together, we aim to demonstrate how eyewear enhances personal style and celebrates the intricate relationship between individual expression and universal themes.”

Hyundai India Couture Week’s 17th edition runs from July 24 to 31 in New Delhi with Hyundai, Reliance Brands Limited, and Lotus Makeup. Aggarwal’s approach to couture this season was one based in emotions, religion, science, and philosophy, according to the designer.

“I am thrilled to collaborate with Amit Aggarwal for India Couture Week,” said Isvari’s creative partner Manik Jain. “Showcasing our key pieces alongside his designs has been an absolute delight. As the trend shifts from conventional white diamonds to vibrant coloured gemstones, our collection perfectly complements Amit’s iconic and timeless silhouettes beautifully, creating a stunning fusion for a truly stylish spectacle.”
