Amazon India has launched its 10 minute quick commerce delivery service in a select number of areas of Bengaluru, following on from an employee only pilot, and plans to add more neighbourhoods in the near future then continue to scale up operations.
Along with adding new locations to its quick commerce services, Amazon India also plans to widen its product selection, ET Bureau reported. The business plans to expand from its current offering of daily essentials and increase its beauty, home, and kitchen categories as its ‘Amazon Now’ quick commerce service grows.
“We are in talks to onboard with them [Amazon India] and should be live by March to April after they stabilise grocery and daily essentials,” said an anonymous senior brand executive whose label also retails on other quick commerce marketplaces, ET Tech reported. “Beauty and home are the next focus areas.”
Along with businesses which purely offer quick commerce services, such as Zepto and Blinkit, India’s large scale e-commerce marketplaces are also increasingly embracing the fast growing sector. Flipkart has launched ‘Flipkart Minutes’ and is scaling up its operations and both fashion and beauty brands are increasingly looking to tap into quick commerce for growth.
