Ajio launches Timberland on e-commerce platform

As Reliance Retail continues to strengthen its international brand selection, the multi-brand e-commerce platform has launched a range of Timberland products in the Indian market, including eye wear and watches.

“Ajio delivered steady performance as it expanded its product catalogue by over 25% Y-o-Y [year on year] and added over 1.8 million new customers,” announced Reliance Industries Limited in its earnings statement, disseminated on October 14. “Ajio has been strengthening its portfolio through new brands launches like Asos, H&M, Timberland, to name a few.”
 
Ajio currently retails a selection of watches, eye glasses, and sunglasses by Timberland on its e-commerce platform. Reliance Retail’s subsidiary Reliance Brands had a distribution and licensee agreement with Timberland in 2009. The US-based label had closed its India stores in 2015 as it was facing challenging competition along with a legal dispute with local label Woodland over similar brand logos.
 
The second quarter of the 2025 financial year saw Reliance Retail Ventures Limited open a total of 464 new stores to reach a total store count of 18,946 outlets, representing 79.4 million square feet of retail space. The business is focusing on scaling up its digital and new commerce and noted that Reliance Retail is one of the preferred retailers in India in terms of performance.
