“Dear friends, customers, and all the wonderful people I have had the pleasure of meeting along these years,” wrote brand founder Kanika Jain in a farewell message on Facebook. “After a wonderful 15 year journey, I have decided to take a step back and embrace a moment of pause. Our festive 2024 collection was our last offering, giving me the opportunity to refocus my creative energies elsewhere. We will continue to share this last collection and remaining pieces from other collections until our inventory is complete.”

Designer Kanika Jain launched Kanelle in 2011 taking her first name and ‘elle’ to form ‘Kanelle’ to mean ‘creations for her.’ The label is known for its relaxed take on femininity and has showcased its collections across India and during New York Fashion Week.

“It is hard to put into words the gratitude I feel for this incredible experience,” wrote Jain. “Leading Kanelle has been transformative, shaping me into who I am today… This journey has been a true honour, and I will always be an advocate for those working tirelessly toward positive change in this industry.”
