A 7.7 magnitude earthquake has struck Myanmar – with at least 43 workers reported to be trapped in a collapsed building after the impact was felt as far away as Bangkok.

Footage shared by local media shows the under-construction building in the Chatuchak area crashing to the ground as people run away from the scene.

At least 43 workers are now trapped under the collapsed structure, according to local media citing Thailand’s National Institute for Emergency Medicine.

The Thai capital is around 560 miles from Mandalay – the Myanmar city where the earthquake struck at a shallow depth of 6 miles.
