Shopsy crosses 330 million app downloads on three year anniversary

Flipkart’s value focused fashion and lifestyle e-commerce platform Shopsy has reported that it has crossed 330 million mobile app downloads on the occasion of its third anniversary and has brought its seller total to 1.4 million.

“We celebrate this milestone with our customers, sellers, and partners, whose support has established us as the favourite hyper-value e-commerce platform,” said Shopsy’s business head Prathyusha Agarwal, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “Our journey is defined by a commitment to exceptional value, innovation, and a customer-centric approach tailored to best suit the needs of Bharat. With the Indian e-commerce industry set to reach $300 billion by 2030, we remain dedicated to enhancing our offerings, technological capabilities, and delivering an unparalleled shopping experience to the value-conscious customers of Bharat.”
 
Shopsy focuses on non-metro shoppers and close to 70% of its customers reside in Tier 2 and 3 cities, with rural locations including Bilgi, Phul, Faridkot, and Nagarcoil. The platform also caters to young Indians and nearly 90% of new users are Gen Z and millennials.
 
“As a business, we did not have much focus online,” said Shrashti Textiles’ director Sachin Chakravarty about using Shopsy. “Our women’s apparel business was happening in offline markets. But since we started working on Shopsy Marketplace, we received a massive online response in just six months. The Shopsy team has supported us a lot in this journey. Because of online sales, we were able to expand our business with our turnover increasing each day.”
 
Walmart-owned Flipkart launched Shopsy as a business to customer e-commerce platform in 2021. The platform’s product categories range from ethnic wear for men and women to watches, personal care goods, and kitchen ware among others, according to its website.
