“I am so happy and honoured to celebrate Péro’s 15th anniversary by opening Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with Fashion Design Council of India,” said Péro’s founder and designer Aneeth Arora in a press release. “This collection, in particular, is very close to my heart as it is a celebration of our collective childhood nostalgia reinterpreted in our own quirky style. Think cottage core but with a twist.”

Known for its intricate embellishments, youthful nostalgia, and modern interpretations of heritage craft techniques, Péro plans to celebrate these brand staples this season. Aneeth Arora launched the label in 2009 and the name means ‘to wear’ in the Marwari language.

“At The House of Lakmē, we have been consistently re-inventing the fashion x beauty landscape, shattering boundaries and uncovering bold new frontiers,” said Lakmē’s vice president Sunanda Khaitan. “The inaugural show of Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI seamlessly aligns with our vision as a trendsetting brand. We are thrilled to unveil Aneeth Arora’s péro as the opening act that blends Indian heritage with modern flair. As Péro celebrates 15 years of trailblazing design, this season’s signature collection is sure to captivate audiences worldwide.”

Lakmē Fashion Week x FDCI will take place from October 9 to 13 at The Grand in New Delhi. The fashion week’s tagline this year in ‘Breathe in the bloom’.

“Aneeth Arora, renowned worldwide for her captivating fashion narratives, seamlessly blends the intricacies of traditional Indian textiles with western design sensibilities,” said FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi. “We are thrilled to welcome her for the opening show, which is poised to spark trendsetting fashion conversations and will set a vibrant tone for the October 2024 season in New Delhi.”

“Each season, the grand opening show sets the tone for the five days of fashion that follow,” said Reliance Brands Private Limited’s group vice president Jaspreet Chandok. “This year, we are thrilled to kick off the extravaganza with Péro by Aneeth Arora. With it being Péro’s 15th anniversary showcase, it promises to be a magical start to the season, celebrating Indian craftsmanship through a fresh and imaginative lens, bringing an unconventional perspective to the runway. We are excited to have Aneeth open Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, setting the tone for what will be an unforgettable edition of creativity, innovation, and fashion in Delhi.”
