Mocemsa plans international offline debut in FY25

Direct to customer fragrance brand Mocemsa plans to expand into international markets by the end of the 2025 financial year. The business is in discussions with global distributors to widen its retail network and aims to launch in countries including Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Philippines, and Indonesia as well as countries in Central Europe.

“We aim to expand to countries with similar per capita incomes to India,” said Mocemsa’s chief executive officer Subhadro Das, India Retailing reported. “Additionally, we are also considering Central Europe, Kazakhstan, and the smaller Union of Soviet Socialist Republics countries where the purchasing power is comparable.”
 
Mocemsa currently counts 121 shop in shops on Indian high-streets and in malls as well as 15 domestic airport shop in shops and six duty free outlets. Keen to continue its Indian expansion, the business announced at the beginning of August this year that it plans to open 10 new airport stores this financial year to tap into the high levels of footfall these locations offer. Mocemsa also aims to launch 500 shop in shops in large-format retail stores in India.
 
Mocemsa was established in 2017 and launched its first shop in shop in New Delhi’s Select Citywalk during the same year. The brand sources its perfume bottles from Italy and its outer packaging from Italy and Germany, according to its Facebook page.
