Kylian Mbappe tells PSG he will leave club at end of 2023-24 season | World News

Kylian Mbappe has told Paris Saint-Germain he will leave at the end of the 2023-2024 season when his contract expires, Sky News understands.

Mbappe’s current contract with PSG expires in the summer and since 1 January he has been able to hold pre-contract talks with other clubs.

The terms of the forward’s exit are yet to be finalised as the two parties negotiate whether Mbappe will leave for a fee or sacrifice his own earnings to protect PSG financially.

It is understood PSG and Mbappe will make an announcement once this is agreed in the coming months.

The 25-year-old has been widely linked with a move to Real Madrid.

But, it has been reported Mbappe would have to take a pay cut to join the Spanish side.

Last summer PSG received a world-record £259m bid from Al Hilal for Mbappe and gave the player permission to talk to the Saudi club.

However, it was reported Mbappe turned down the chance to even discuss a move to the club when delegates travelled to Paris.

He was then barred from training with PSG’s first-team group as part of a contract dispute.

But the World Cup winner was reintegrated in August last year, after what were described as “positive and constructive talks”.
