Womenswear brand Kaftanize brought shine and shimmer to the runway at Bombay Times Fashion Week. The brand’s new occasion wear collection was titled ‘Iddhaa’ and was made by traditional Indian Karigars.

This season, Kaftanize’s founders and designers Shilpa and Rahul Agarwal took their inspiration from nature to render fusion style ensembles in jewel toned satin and sheer fabrics. The collection had a colour palette of emerald green, chocolate brown, and black with gold sparkles and floral details.

Notable looks included a lehenga style skirt and crop top set with a floaty capelet worn over the top and satin trousers paired with sheer tops. Actress Vidya Malavde closed the show in a golden ensemble which mixed geometric patterns with florals, embellished on a crop top with sheer sleeves and a pair of floaty trousers for a dramatic effect.

Bombay Times Fashion Week ran from October 27 to 29 in Mumbai as an initiative of the Times Group. Powered by Streax Professional, the three-day fashion week featured runway shows by brands including Archana Kochhar, Riyaz Gangji, Chheda Jewellers, Kaftanize, Aari, and Navyasa among others as well as student fashion showcases.

Kaftanize retails from its direct-to-customer e-commerce store and specialises in kaftans, lounge wear, and women’s ethnic style apparel. The brand has also launched a sleep wear line, available online.
