Ludovic de Saint Sernin follows Nicolas Di Felice, who presented the last guest couture collection for the house of Gaultier on June 27. De Saint Sernin will stage this show in January, during the next haute couture season, with clothes for spring/summer 2025.

Debuting in July 2021 this unique series of collab’ couture collections began with Chitose Abe of Sacai, who has since been followed by Glenn MartensOlivier RousteingHaider Ackermann, Simone Rocha and Di Felice.

Like Jean Paul, Ludovic is regarded as a talented transgressive creator, not afraid to push the envelope in terms of design.

de Saint Sernin, 32, was born in Brussels and grew up in France. A fashion design graduate from the Ecole Duperré in Paris, in 2018 he was a finalist at the LVMH Prize, and in the same year he won the ANDAM’s creative label award. He has worked at Saint Laurent and afterwards at Balmain, and in 2017 he launched his own menswear label, later adding womenswear. He was also briefly the designer of Anne Demeulemeester.

Ludovic is also not afraid to venture abroad. This January, he showed in a giant New York loft, inspired by the art and photography of Robert Mapplethorpe.

De Saint Sernin partnered with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation to incorporated images of his flowers and fauna onto techy organza tops and seriously sexy semi-transparent cocktails. He paired the gauzy and suggestive tops with pencil pants and skirts. Several of his gal models were in bra and pants topped with transparent skirts with tulip overlays. All were electrifyingly sexy.
