Glastonbury: Second festival death as crew member found unresponsive in tent | UK News

Must read

A Glastonbury crew member aged in his 40s has died after being found unresponsive in his tent at the festival site.

Avon and Somerset Police are not treating the man’s death in The Park area as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Officers were called to the site in Pilton, Somerset, at about 2.20pm on Tuesday and the man was confirmed dead at the scene.

It comes after another man, also in his 40s, died following a “medical incident”, on a footpath – popularly known as the old railway line – in the early hours of Sunday, according to the force.

Police said his death was not being treated as suspicious and officers were carrying out enquiries on behalf of the coroner.

The festival ended on Monday, though crew remain at the site to clear up and return it to fields that are ready for cows to graze on.

Around 200,000 people usually attend the festival at Worthy Farm and several deaths have been reported at the site in recent years.

They include a security guard aged in his 60s who was found dead in his tent during the event in 2019.
