GJEPC’s IGJS kicks off in Jaipur, draws global buyers

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council’s International Gem and Jewellery Show launched in Jaipur on April 12. The business to business event is designed to showcase Indian manufacturing and technology to global members of the jewellery industry.

“IGJS 2024 welcomes you to the gemstone capital of the world,” announced the GJEPC on Facebook. “Get ready to witness the year’s most awaited gem and jewellery show that brings the world of gem and jewellery to one place… The IGJS is the only show where the global gem and jewellery world meets. Jaipur is their chosen destination for sourcing jewellery and networking, as the best jewellery manufacturers and master gem cutters hail from this city.”
 
The trade show launched at the Novotel Convention Centre in Jaipur and will run until April 14. The event has drawn a sizeable crowd of jewellery buyers from the US who are looking to connect with Indian jewellery manufacturers, according to the GJEPC.
 
This year, IGJS features an ‘India Design Gallery’ which aims to highlight Indian artistry as well as technology and present the country as an ideal sourcing destination for global buyers. The trade show is powered by Gemfields and supported by the government’s Department of Commerce at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
