Columbia opens apparel and accessories store in Jaipur

Adventure and sportswear brand Columbia has opened a new store in Jaipur. Located inside the city’s recently launched Horizon Tower development, the outlet houses a range of apparel and accessories for both men and women. 

“Columbia now open at Horizon Tower,” announced the retail development on Facebook. The store retails a range of outerwear, footwear, and other products designed for trekking and sports. 
 
Columbia first entered the Indian market in December 2013 as part of a distribution partnership with Chogori India Retail Limited and opened its first brick-and-mortar store in the country. The business reported strong customer uptake at the time and in 2014 revised its plan to open between three and five stores a year to 25 stores in a year, the Economic Times reported at the time. 

The brand imports the majority of its products and manufactures a small amount in India itself. The business aims to continue to increase the amount of products it produces in India. 
 
Columbia Sportswear was established by Gert Boyle in Portland, Oregon in the US and is inspired by the heritage of the Pacific Northwest. The brand’s history dates back to 1938 and it first began as a hat company, according to the brand’s website.
