Aldo launches collaborative collection with Disney in Indian market

Footwear and accessories brand Aldo has launched the first capsule collection in its two-part ‘Disney x Aldo 100th Anniversary Collection’ in the Indian market. The second part of the collection will retail from November this year.

“This collection is the perfect blend of nostalgia, charm and whimsy, that perfectly encapsulates Disney,” said Aldo’s chief brand and product officer Daianara Grullon Amalfitano in a press release. “From Mickey and Minnie-inspired bespoke mirror-prints, to hidden winks of the iconic ears on pull tabs, pouches and hardware, this collection is truly special and speaks to the Disney-lover in all of us. Our Disney capsules are always a fan-favourite with our customers, and we’re so excited to be launching this limited-edition collection in partnership with Disney to celebrate their 100 magical years.”
 
Aldo launched its first collaborative collection with Disney in 2019 and has rolled over five joint collections with the US media giant. For its sixth and seventh collaborative collection with Disney, Aldo has created a series of graphic handbags and shoes for both men and women featuring characters including Mickey Mouse in primary colours. The 23-piece capsule line also features Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Donald Duck, and Daisy Duck.

Aldo first launched in 1972 in Canada. Today, the brand retails globally and has stores across numerous Indian cities including Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Ahmedabad among others.
