Fashion and lifestyle business Bestseller India’s CEO Vineet Gautam has announced he will step down from his role at the business. Following a 15 year stint at the company, Gautam will formally leave the role on December 31, 2024.
“After 15 incredible years of dedication and leadership, Vineet Gautam is moving on from Bestseller India, leaving behind an unparalleled legacy that has forever shaped the organisation and the fashion retail industry,” announced Bestseller India on Facebook on November 21. At the Indian arm of the global business, Gautam was responsible for introducing and establishing apparel brands in India including Vero Moda, Only, Jack & Jones, and Selected Homme.
“When I began this journey 15 years ago, my goal was to bring a new wave of fashion to India,” said Vineet Gautam about his decision, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “The success we’ve achieved together– from launching brands to creating a robust retail network– has been deeply fulfilling. I am incredibly proud of the team at Bestseller India, whose passion and commitment have made us a market leader. As I step away, I am confident that the legacy we’ve built will continue to thrive.”
Bestseller India is part of the Denmark based fashion business Bestseller. The business counts around 332 standalone brand outlets in India for various apparel and accessories labels.
“Vineet’s contribution to Bestseller India cannot be understated,” said Bestseller’s owner and CEO Anders Holch Povlsen. “As he steps down, we are grateful for his years of service and contribution to the organisation. Looking ahead, I am excited about the immense potential India holds and our continued journey of growth and expansion in this incredible country.”
