Wacoal launches ‘Basics’ line as India exclusive

Japanese lingerie brand Wacoal has launched new product line ‘Wacoal Basics’ exclusively in the Indian market. The collection offers a selection of everyday inner wear at an entry price point with the aim of widening Wacoal’s customer base in the country.

“We’ve created the ‘Wacoal Basics’ product line to offer essential lingerie that every woman should have in her wardrobe,” said Wacoal India’s COO Pooja Merani in a press release. “Our goal was to make Wacoal’s premium quality and comfort more accessible by introducing a range that doesn’t compromise on style or fit, even at a more affordable price point. These must-have pieces are designed to support women in their everyday lives, no matter the occasion. With ‘Wacoal Basics,’ we are proud to bring this unique blend of comfort, quality, and affordability to our customers in India.”
 
The Wacoal Basics line includes a range of breathable cotton bras in neutral and black tones as well as t-shirt bras and push-up bras. The range also includes the ‘It’s Perfect Bra’ which has a crossover front design and is designed to mix style with comfort. The India exclusive line has launched on Wacoal’s direct to customer India e-commerce store.
 
Wacoal was established in Japan in 1946 and began expanding into numerous Asian countries in the 1970s. The brand opened its first store in India in December 2015 in Mumbai and today retails in the country with an omni-channel approach.
