Following the UK based headquarters of beauty and personal care business The Body Shop’s initiation of its administration sale process on May 20, India based Quest Retail assures that the auction will not affect its India retail network.
“The news that’s been reported relates to the UK (or company-owned markets) only,” said Quest Retail The Body Shop India’s group CEO Shriti Malhotra, Indian Retailer Bureau reported. “This has no effect on The Body Shop India whatsoever. We are a brand that makes a difference, not only through the products we sell, but through the immense popularity of the brand in India and the strength of the community actions we undertake. Following the recent developments in the UK, The Body Shop India remains strong, and the news of new ownership is a very positive development for us for the path ahead.”
Quest Retail is headquartered in Gurugram and launched in the year 2000 as a specialty beauty, fashion, and lifestyle retail business, according to its Linkedin page. In 2006, The Body Shop India launched under the umbrella of Quest Retail Private Limited making India a head franchise market for the brand. Today, The Body Shop counts brick-and-mortar stores across India and also retails online.
“With a reinvigorated approach, our investment in the brand expansion, brand advocacy, and partner growth in India remains immensely strong, especially as we are launching new retail and quick commerce opportunities, ensuring greater accessibility to customers in India,” said Malhotra.
