Wacoal, a premium Japanese lingerie brand has expanded its retail footprint in the Indian market with the opening of its largest store in the city of Mumbai.

The store located at Phoenix Palladium was inaugurated by actor Mouni Roy. It will offer an extensive selection of Wacoal’s premium intimate wear.

Wacoal considers India as an important market for growth and plans to make significant investment to establish a robust presence in the country through multi-channel retail including specialized stores, multi-brand outlets, and e-commerce platforms.

Commenting on the expansion, Pooja Merani, chief operating officer at Wacoal India in a statement said, “Our new concept flagship store represents our dedication to delivering a unique premium shopping experience. We are delighted to continue expanding with more stores planned across India as well as strengthening our presence in multi-brand outlets and e-commerce platforms.”

Hirokuni Nagamori, CEO of Wacoal India added, “We are thrilled to open our largest flagship store in Mumbai. This store represents our commitment to offering Indian women premium lingerie while offering a great fit, comfort and exemplary service synonymous with Wacoal Internationally.”

Wacoal entered the Indian market with its first store in December 2015 and currently has 18 exclusive brand outlets. It also retails through its website, e-commerce platforms, large format store and multi-brand outlets across India.
