Designer Rashmi Varma has collaborated with premium Indian fashion and lifestyle business Good Earth to launch a capsule collection for the winter season. The ready-to-wear line offers a range of fusion style womenswear designed for “contemporary lifestyles.”
For her debut collaboration with Good Earth, Rashmi Varma has reimagined Indian dressing traditions in contemporary silhouettes and styles. The Rashmi Varma x Good Earth collection has launched on Good Earth’s e-commerce store and in its brick-and-mortar outlets across India, the business announced on Facebook.
Featuring a mix of rich brocades and more minimalist monochrome textiles, the clothing line also uses bandhani and mukaish textiles to explore the designer’s lived experience. Winter festive looks range from sculptural black sets to metallic brocade separates with everyday options including fluid blouses and loose-fit trousers.
“I think of a globally-minded woman who might be travelling around but always carries a bit of India with her,” said Varma about her designs, Good Earth reported on Facebook. “We don’t want difficult or fussy clothes. We want chic, cool pieces that can be mixed and matched.”
Rashmi Varma is a designer, artist, and curator and her professional career has spun from Canada to India, Border and Fall reported. The designer launched her eponymous brand in 2015 after exploring garment making for close to a decade and also has extensive experience in costume design.
