GJSCI names Milan Chokshi as new chairman (#1682191)

The Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India has named Milan Chokshi as its new chairman following an election. Chokshi will follow on from the Gem and Jewellery Skill Council’s previous chairman Adil Kotwal.

I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chairman at Gem & Jewellery Skill Council of India,” announced Milan Chokshi in a Linkedin post. The decision to appoint Chokshi was made by the Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India’s board of directors following a meeting held in October.
 
“His enthusiasm would surely foster the objective of skilling the youth of the nation and facilitate industry support,” announced the Gem and Jewellery Skill Council of India in a statement, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council announced on its website.
 
Chokshi is a fourth generation jewellery and gemologist and is the director of Tanvirkumar & Co. Chokshi is also director of bullion operations at Diamond India Limited and is an active member of the GJEPC’s ‘Committee of Administration’ where he holds the position of convenor for promotions, marketing, and business development. As part of his commitment to jewellery education, Chokshi holds the position of chairman of the GJEPC’s Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery in Mumbai.
