HGH India explores South India, to hold December edition in Bengaluru (#1682499)

HGH India, a bi-annual trade show for home textiles, home décor, home furniture, houseware, and gifts, will take place in South India for the first time and hold its upcoming edition at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre from December 3 to 6.

The trade show will be HGH India’s 16th edition to date, the event organisers announced in a press release. By debuting in South India, the trade show aims to tap into the area’s growth potential, fuelled by urbanisation, a growing middle class, and a shift towards aesthetic living spaces.
 
“It is a conscious decision to host the 16th edition in Bengaluru this year,” said HGH India’s managing director Arun Roongta in a press release. “With 20% of the country’s population and a 35% contribution to the GDP, South India is emerging as an important hub for manufacturing and service industries like IT. Its per capita income is about 50% higher than the five North Indian states, giving it much higher purchasing power. This also makes South India one of the most promising and under explored markets for home products. The demand for home textiles, home décor, home furniture, houseware, and gifts in these states is growing faster than in other parts of India.”
 
The trade show will cater to businesses across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Vijayawada which HGH India has witnessed have high demand for contemporary home products. Around 200 exhibitors from across the globe will take part in the trade show with numerous repeat exhibitors returning and 40 to 50 new exhibitors from Indian regions including Moradabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Malappuram. Other key features will include a ‘Sustainability Pavilion,’ panel discussions, and government support, including from the Ministry of Textiles.
