Bajaj Consumer Care Q2 net profit down 15 percent to Rs 32 crore

Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd reported a 15 percent decline in net profit to Rs 32 crore ($3.8 million) for the quarter ended September 30, as against Rs 37 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue for the quarter was down marginally to Rs 234 crore, as against Rs 235 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

On half year basis, the company’s net profit was down by 17 percent to Rs 69 crore as compared to Rs 83 crore recorded in H1 FY24.

Revenue from operations during the March-September period was down by 5 percent year-on-year to Rs 480 crore.

“Rural performed better with low single digit growth in quarter. Urban remained under pressure largely led by muted wholesale performance. Modern trade grew by 4 percent year-on-year while e-commerce registered a growth of 32 percent,” Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd said in its investor presentation.

“On consolidated basis, international business grew by 36 percent year-on-year. Middle East & Africa grew by 22 percent on the back of 100 store additions in UAE. Bangladesh grew by 103 percent on back of good expansion in distribution,” it added.
