Amazon India reported it received its highest ever total customer visits during its recent Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024 with 140 crore customers visiting the platform. The business also saw over 85% of its visitors hail from non-metro cities.
“This overwhelming response from across the country, for everything from daily essentials to high-value purchases, underscores customers’ deepening trust in Amazon India,” said the business’ vice president of categories Saurabh Srivastava, Asian News International reported. “AGIF exemplifies our obsession with providing an unparalleled shopping experience through wide selection, unmatched value, fast delivery, and relentless innovation. We are committed to creating more opportunities that unlock greater value for our entire ecosystem of customers, sellers, and partners.”
Amazon India launched its flagship sale early for its Prime members and delivered over three crore products to Prime members pan-India either the same day or following day of their order. This represents a 26% increase compared to during its sale event last year, ET Retail reported.
During the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2024, 70% more sellers on the platform passed the Rs 1 crore mark in sales compared to in 2023. Every minute, small and medium sized businesses, including artisans and women entrepreneurs, sold more than 1,000 units during the sale event.
