Women’s fashion brand Theater raises Rs 12.5 crore to fuel expansion

Women’s fashion brand Theater has raised approximately Rs 12.5 crore in a pre-series A funding round. The Chandigarh based label plans to use the capital to expand offline, enter new categories such as quick commerce, and streamline its operations.

The funding round was led by venture capital firm Prath Ventures and featured additional participation from existing angel investors, India Retailing reported. The funding round was undertaken as part of Theater’s wider plan to become an established mass-premium fashion brand in India.
 
“Theater is a dynamic and rapidly growing fashion startup based in India,” wrote Theater on its Linkedin page. “Our mission is to create India’s best design-led, mass-premium western fashion company.”
 
Theater’s direct to customer e-commerce store has dedicated segments for product categories including women’s shapewear, stockings, hats, perfumes, and bags. Entrepreneurs Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain, and Shruti Aggarwal founded the brand in 2021 and Theater also has a presence on a number of Indian multi-brand marketplaces.
 
“Our mission is to transform the Indian fashion landscape through a design-centric approach,” said Theater’s CEO Sarthak Aggarwal, India Retailing reported. “We are committed to crafting fashion and lifestyle products that are not only exquisitely made but also timeless in design. This funding empowers us to drive growth through new channels like quick commerce, expand our offline presence, and accelerate our design iteration and production processes. We are witnessing remarkable growth across all our categories, and this investment comes at a pivotal moment.”
