GJEPC launches tenth India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show in Jaipur

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council has inaugurated the tenth edition of the India Rough Gemstones Sourcing Show in Jaipur. The business to business event is designed to bring together gemstone companies for an exhibition of rough emeralds.

Jaipur’s additional commissioner of customs Neeraj Dubey inaugurated the sourcing fair on August 27, the GJEPC announced on its website. Jaipur’s Air Cargo Complex assistant commissioner of customs K M Meena also attended the launch ceremony which kicked off in Rajasthan’s capital city and runs until September 14.
 
The gemstone show features a wide selection of rough emeralds which are being displayed by Kagem Mining Limited. The gemstone business is based in Zambia and is a subsidiary of British gemstone mining business Gemfields. The event is designed to facilitate business partnerships between buyers and sellers and promote Zambian emeralds in the Indian jewellery market.
 
The GJEPC’s regional chairman for Rajasthan Nirmal Bardiya, Synthetic Stone, Sales to Foreign Tourists and Fashion Jewellery (SS/SFT/FJ) Sub-Committee convenor B N Gupta, and regional committee members Vijay Kedia and Rambabu Gupta are representing the GJEPC at the ongoing event. Kagem’s assistant director of product and sales Etienne Marvillet is also present and will remain in India for the duration of the sourcing fair.
