Malabar Gold to expand presence in UK, opens store in Leicester

Malabar Gold & Diamonds has expanded its retail presence in the United Kingdom (UK) with the opening of its second store in Leicester.

The brand plans to further expand its presence in the UK by opening stores in Southall, Wembley, Birmingham and Manchester.

Malabar’s new store located on Belgrave Road’s Golden Mile spread across an area of 2,000 sq ft houses over 20,000 jewellery designs from 20 countries, catering to bridal, occasional, daily, and office wear.

Commenting on the launch, M P Ahammed, chairman of Malabar Group in a statement said, “We began our operations in the UK a year ago with our first showroom in London, and it gives me immense pride that we are launching our second showroom in the UK, in Leicester, within such a short span, which is a testament to the trust placed by our customers.”

Shamlal Ahamed, managing director international operations at Malabar Gold added, “There is a very vibrant Indian sub-continent community here in the UK who deeply appreciate the artistry of Indian handcrafted jewellery. We have ambitious expansion plans in the UK and Europe region with immediate openings planned in Southall and Wembley in London, as well as Birmingham and Manchester.”

Malabar Gold claims to be the sixth largest jewellery retailer globally with a retail presence of 350 showrooms across 13 countries.
