On June 1, Indian adventure apparel and gear brand Gokyo launched its first South India store in Bengaluru. Located at the LV Plaza in Banaswadi, the store opened as a collaboration with the outdoor and adventure retail chain Mountains Within.
“We are excited to bring Gokyo’s innovative, high-quality adventure gear to the Silicon Valley of India,” said Gokyo’s co-founder Venki Maheshwari in a press release. “Our aim is to provide adventurers with premium products and firsthand expertise, ensuring they are well-prepared for their next outdoor venture. As we expand our presence nationwide, we aspire to inspire more people to embark on exciting adventures.”
The store launch on Saturday was attended by former member of the Legislative Assembly Vinisha Nero, who officiated the ceremony. Gokyo’s co-founders and Bengaluru based Everest climbers Sunil Nataraj and Venkatesh Maheshwari also held a meet and greet with guests at the store opening.
The new store retails clothing, and accessories, and gear for everyone from seasoned mountaineers to casual hikers, according to the brand. Following the Bengaluru launch, Gokyo also plans to launch an outlet in Hyderabad to connect with more shoppers in South India. Gokyo retails from its flagship store in Mumbai as well as in multi-brand stores in Maharashtra, Noida, Srinagar, and Sikkim.
