The highly anticipated sequel hits theaters the same day (16/12/22), 13 years after the original film, the ‘Creepin’ singer shared the epic song ‘You Give Me Strength’. The Weeknd has previously found great success in film work, with their 2014 song “Earned It” from the Fifty Shades soundtrack winning a Grammy and being nominated for an Oscar. ‘Avatar: The Way of Water includes the original score by the late James Horner and new work by Simon Franglen, who took over the project after the composer died in a plane crash in 2015.
It stars returning actors Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and new cast Kate Winslet. The latter recently gushed about how excited she was to reunite with her “Titanic” director James Cameron on the project. “I loved the first Avatar movie. The deeper themes it conveyed about our dying earth were very poignant, and that was important to me.
“So I had no reservations at all. And I jumped into a well-oiled machine, so everything they learned as a filmmaker from the first movie worked out in the second.” I was thrilled to feel that I was strengthened and strengthened. And it’s fun!
