IFJAS generates Rs 315 crore business enquiries

The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts’ India Fashion Jewellery and Accessories show concluded on June 28 with around Rs 315 crore of business enquiries after welcoming a total of 1,293 trade visitors from 58 nations.

“Taking each show as a progressive step in line with our goal to achieve a threefold growth in handicraft exports by 2030– ‘Teen Guna Tees Tak’, the Indian handicrafts sector is transforming to become more sustainable and productive,” said EPCH chairman Dileep Baid in a press release on June 28. “With broadening artisan as well as manufacturing bases, faster turnaround times and eco-friendly and sustainable processes we will be able to realise more business from our buyer connects at leading trade platforms like IHGF Delhi Fair and IFJAS.”
Around 200 Indian exhibitors showcased products in five main categories which focused on regional crafts and popular products for export. The Union Government’s economic advisor to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Renu Lata visited the fair and the next edition of IFJAS will take place in 2024. 

“Each EPCH show focuses on the crucial connect and the subsequent journey of growth for both the manufacturer and the buyer,” said EPCH director general Rakesh Kumar. “This show gave us many new buyers looking at India as a promising sourcing base. Our regular patrons have done their business and make a note of the next EPCH trade platform.”
