“Walking as a showstopper for Abhishek Sharma at Lakme Fashion Week is more than just a moment on the runway; it’s an expression of confidence and creativity,” said Ujjwala Raut in a press release. “Fashion is about telling a story, and I’m thrilled to embody that narrative.”

The collection’s garments brought to mind the Indian grasslands by using layered pieces of fabric, shaped like large blades of grass. Sharma mixed surface ornamentation with kantha embroidery, 3D hand embellishments, draping, and beadwork to create dramatic occasion wear looks.

“Having Ujjwala Raut as the showstopper for my collection at Lakmē Fashion Week is a dream come true,” said Abhishek Sharma. “Her grace, confidence, and charisma perfectly embody the spirit of my designs. I couldn’t be more thrilled to showcase my work with such incredible talent on the runway!”

Lakmē Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI ran in New Delhi from October 9 to 13. The fashion week featured numerous design challenges, a Sustainable Fashion Day, and brought together both established and emerging designers from across India.

“I’m so excited to be part of Abhishek Sharma’s show at Lakmē Fashion Week,” said Shibani Bedi. “The moment I slipped into this gorgeous gown, I felt like a true work of art. Abhishek’s vision brings out the beauty in every detail, and I can’t wait to walk the runway in it!”
