Reliance Industries Limited’s textiles brand R|Elan brought together over 100 fabric manufacturers, designers, and trade dignitaries for its ‘Fabric Innovation Meet’ in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra. The event was designed to innovate sustainable textile solutions.
The R|Elan event unveiled a number of the brand’s textiles and outlined their sustainable production methods to Bhiwandi’s textile industry, the business announced in a press release. According to Reliance Industries Limited, the industry event, “marked a significant milestone in the evolution of sustainable and innovative textiles.”
“Polyester is the fibre of choice in the textile industry, offering unparalleled availability, versatility, and quality,” said Reliance Industries Limited’s head of Filament SBU J Raghunath in a press release. “As Reliance continues to expand its polyester capacity, our focus remains on enhancing specialty and differentiated products.”
Raghunath stressed the need for continued innovation in the textiles sector and stated that a shift in mindset needs to occur to transition from a commodity-oriented approach to specialty fabric production. Raghunath said that the adoption of staple fibres and filament yarns from R|Elan presents an opportunity for textile businesses in the area to become leading players in textile innovation. R|Elan textiles showcased at the included the sustainable ‘R|Elan™ GreenGold’ and ‘R|Elan™ EcoGold’ products as well as performance-focused textiles including ‘R|Elan™ Kooltex’ and ‘R|Elan™ FeelFresh’.
